ADAPTATION or ACCOMMODATION? You decide..
As we move in to week 7 of 13 in our final training block of 2023, we commence DE-LOAD week. And whether you love it or loathe it, understanding it is KEY for PROGRESSION 🔑
When executing a structured training program, you are ALWAYS pushing your body to adapt to the training stress applied throughout the program in order to progress. Key word ALWAYS!
Now, here in lies the problem.
▪️Too much stress for too long ▪️
The body will either accommodate it, become fatigued and/or injuries start to occur 🚫
▪️Too little stress ▪️
The body will accomodate it and no progress will be made 🚫
The solution = DE-LOAD week ✅
▪️We push our athletes body’s to adapt.
▪️We program a DE-LOAD before the accomodation, fatigue or injuries occur.
▪️We reduce ALL loads.
▪️We reduce overall intensity.
▪️We give our body’s TIME TO ADAPT.
▪️We perform at our best.
